THE WINNER FOR JULY 22nd:
GBEMISOKE OMOKOREDE TEJUMOLA
His Breakup:
"I had a male friend, met through the Honor Society at a conference locally. The guy seemed to be "just like me." He wasn't oozing with handsome, but he was good-looking. He was talented, intelligent, and divorced. We became instant friends and communicated by phone and text for nearly 3.5 years when one day he confessed his feelings for me. I, being old-fashioned, was expecting to get a proposition to be his "girlfriend." He drove the 3 hours distance to see me about every other week for a few months... And when he finally realized that I wasn't on the same page, he asked me to be his girlfriend... to which, I obliged. We had been dating for all of 4 days, talking on the phone (as it was a long-distance relationship) every night. The fifth night, he didn't call; I wasn't worried. The sixth night came: no call. The seventh night rolled by: still no call. Yes, the eighth night passed without a call. Midday number nine, and the phone rings! I answer with an enthusiastic, "Well, nice to hear from you! How ya been?" To which his reply is, "That's the reason I'm calling you... you see... I feel horrible. In the time you have not heard from me, I have been cheating on you... with two girls from work... it happened twice, but I finally told them that I have a good girl who cares about me and it can't happen again. Can you forgive me?" Shocked that he would even bother to tell me all of this in his first mouthful, I reply, "It's fine; I think we were better off as friends anyway. Can I call you later? I'm sorta busy right now." Of course, I wasn't busy... I also did not care to spend anymore time listening to that foolishness coming forth from his mouth. I didn't talk to him again, until about 3 months later at the next conference. He begged me to come aside with him and take a private walk, where he got on his knees and pleaded with me to date him. Imagine his disdain when I laughed."

THE WINNER FOR JULY 15th:
ASHLEY ESKEW
Her Breakup:
"Sophomore year of college I fell madly in love ( or as madly in love as you can be in the summertime) with a boy who had a girlfriend of 3 and a half years. We became close friends immediately and sooner rather than later it became apparent that there was more than friendship between the two of us. Of course I am a class act so nothing happened romantically, excluding one kiss through a pane of glass and many blatant confessions of feelings. After three weeks of being with each other constantly he broke up with his long term girlfriend to be with me. Stating, " How could I ever stay with someone else when my whole heart belongs to you." Uhhh. Cheesy lines like that should have been the first warning signs. We dated for about 7 months until I found out that he had been sleeping with that same girlfriend he had dumped to be with me throughout almost the entirety of our relationship. Many years and Ben and jerry's pints passed and I got over it....
...Just in case that story wasn't enough to clench the win, a brief story of my life called. Boy meets girl. Girl has bad self esteem from last boyfriend ( see previous story) so she dates slacker loser boy. Girl and Boy break up via text message with a follow up on google chat after...count em' 10 months. Boy proceeds to egg Girls brand new car with his new 17 year old girlfriend. Girl takes boy to small claims court for damages. Girl gets asked by Judge Hiro to appear on his court TV show. Girl declines (please refer to classy statement in previous post). Boy loses. Appeals. Loses. Appeals. Loses. Appeals. Settles."

THE WINNER FOR JULY 8th:
BRANDON HARRINGTON
His Breakup:
"April of my freshman year a girl (who shall remain nameless) and I decided that we wanted to take our friendship to the next level, and began dating. We spent many great nights together and everything looked like it was going great into I signed into Facebook one day. Turns out, she had dumped me via Facebook Ð for I was no longer listed as being in a relationship with her. When I went to her page I got another surprise. Not only had I been dumped but she was now in a relationship with a girl. I guess some things are better left explained via Facebook."
